Notes

American water-willow (Dianthera americana) is a perennial for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms throughout the summer and spreads by underground stems, so give it room. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Blue flag, Horsetail, and Big bluestem.
