Notes

'Black Princess' dotleaf waterlily (Nymphaea 'Black Princess') is a perennial for containers and low maintenance water gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and moist, loamy or clay soil. The fragrant flowers open from spring through autumn. Bees visit the blooms, and the plant spreads about 35 to 59 inches wide, so give it room.

Pairs well with Flowering rush, Canada wild rye, and Dr. Alexander Fleming peony.
