Notes

Blue mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Fluffy blue flowers draw bees and butterflies, especially late in the season. It spreads quickly, so give it room or edge the bed.

Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Blue wood aster, New York ironweed, and Pink turtlehead.
