Notes
Blue porterweed (Stachytarpheta jamaicensis) is a perennial for borders, low maintenance gardens, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Blue and purple flowers appear in every season and draw butterflies and hummingbirds. It tolerates drought and salt, so it suits coastal yards.
Pairs well with Mexican petunia, Beautyberry, and Purpurea purple heart.
