Notes

Blue trumpet vine (Thunbergia grandiflora) is a vine for containers, low maintenance gardens, and xeriscapes. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It is evergreen and bears lavender blue flowers in spring, summer, and autumn. It can climb 15 to 30 feet tall, so give it a sturdy support.

Pairs well with Giant granadilla, Bird of paradise, and Mexican bush sage.
