Notes

Capers (Capparis spinosa) is a shrub for borders, containers, and xeriscape gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. The white to cream flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Give it room to spread, since it grows wider than it is tall.

Pairs well with Rosemary, Thyme, and Olive.
