Notes

Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) is a perennial for containers, borders, and food gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy soil. It is evergreen with fragrant foliage, and bees visit its yellow and white blooms. Cardamom is grown for its edible seeds, and it grows fast into a broad clump.

Pairs well with Taro, Bay tree, and Pickerel weed.
