Notes

Colorado four o'clock (Mirabilis multiflora) is a perennial for borders, ground cover, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry soil of most types. Its pink flowers open in the evening and close in the morning, and hawkmoths, bees, and hummingbirds visit them. It grows fast and drapes nicely over a retaining wall.

Pairs well with Big bluestem, Little bluestem, and Red bird of paradise.
