Notes

Contra Costa wallflower (Erysimum capitatum) is a perennial for borders, meadows, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Orange to copper flowers appear in dense clusters on upright stems. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms. It often flowers in its first year, and the leaves and stems are hairy.

Pairs well with Nodding onion, Hungarian Blue poppy, and Northern bayberry.
