Notes

'Derby' melampodium (Melampodium divaricatum 'Derby') is an annual for borders, rock gardens, and annual beds. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant likes full sun and dry to average, loamy or clay soil. It grows as a rapid clumping mound 12 to 24 inches tall and 9 to 12 inches wide. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms, and the plant tolerates drought. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Sensation Mix cosmos, Crestar Mix zinnia, and Red fescue.
