Notes
Flame violet (Episcia cupreata) is a perennial for containers, shade gardens, and ground cover. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy soil. Its creeping stems spread slowly and form a low mat of green, orange, and purple foliage. Scarlet red to orange flowers with yellow throats open in every season.
Pairs well with Boston fern, Angel wings, and Polka dot plant.
