floating fern

Notes

Floating fern (Salvinia natans) is a fern for water gardens, ponds, and containers. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun and moist soil. Each plant spreads about 12 inches wide. It sits low on the menu for rabbits. Give it open water to float on.

Pairs well with White waterlily, Frozen Queen calla lily, and Coral plant.
