Notes

Florida hobblebush (Agarista populifolia) is an evergreen shrub for borders, hedges, specimen planting, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Fragrant, cream-colored flowers open in profuse clusters. It tends to sucker, so give it room.

Pairs well with Virginia sweetspire, Sweet pepperbush, Royal fern, and Mountain azalea.
