Notes

Fringe cups (Tellima grandiflora) is a perennial for borders, containers, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. The evergreen leaves form clumps that spread slowly, and the fragrant flowers draw hummingbirds and bees. It can be somewhat aggressive, and it is prone to mildew, so give it good air flow. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Wild ginger, Pacific bleeding heart, and Western columbine.
