Notes

Giant cane bamboo (Arundinaria gigantea) is a grass for rain gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet, loamy soil. It grows fast and spreads by tough rhizomes into open to dense colonies, so give it room. The stems branch into fanlike clusters, and the plant rarely flowers. Birds, bees, and butterflies visit it.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Buttonbush, and Pin oak.
