Notes

'Golden Sphere' cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera 'Golden Sphere') is a tree for borders, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White, fragrant flowers open from early to late spring and attract butterflies, bees, and birds. As the name suggests, it bears golden yellow, round fruit with translucent yellow flesh.

Pairs well with Saucer magnolia, Bloodgood Japanese maple, Casa Blanca lily, and June hosta.
