Notes

Japanese stewartia (Stewartia pseudocamellia) is a tree for specimen planting, borders, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly and reaches 20 to 40 feet tall with an ascending habit. White flowers attract bees, and the tree tolerates some drought once established.

Pairs well with Japanese holly, Primrose, and Little bluestem.
