Notes

Jet bead (Rhodotypos scandens) is a shrub for hedges, mass planting, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and forms an arching mound of green leaves. White flowers open in spring and again in summer, so you get two rounds of bloom.

Pairs well with Tree peony, Anglojap yew, Mallow, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.

Japan and China.
