Notes

'Loddon Royalist' blue bugloss (Anchusa azurea 'Loddon Royalist') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil of most types. Tiers of deep blue flowers hang from upright stems from spring through summer, and bees visit them. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It can self-sow, so you may find new seedlings nearby.

Pairs well with Black-eyed Susan, Prairie dropseed, and Nodding onion.
