Notes

Marsh pennywort (Hydrocotyle umbellata) is a perennial for ground cover and low maintenance planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its umbrella shaped leaves are unusual, and it grows fast as a groundcover in moist soil. You can also submerge it in shallow water up to 4". Bees and butterflies visit the white blooms.

Pairs well with Spiderwort, Horsetail, and Bottlebrush buckeye.
