Notes

'Mateo' American century plant (Agave 'Mateo') is a succulent for containers, rock gardens, and accents. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Its long, narrow, mid green leaves have toothed edges and a light green to yellow-green stripe down the center. Handle it with care because of those teeth.

Pairs well with Tuscan Blue rosemary, Lemon Coral sedum, and Northwind switchgrass.
