Notes

Mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus betuloides) is a shrub for low maintenance planting and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. It stays evergreen all year and tolerates both drought and salt. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it, so it adds life to a dry garden. It can grow tall enough to form a good screen.

Pairs well with Hollyleaf cherry, Bush clover, and Autumn moor grass.
