Notes

'Nana' winterberry (Ilex verticillata 'Nana') is a shrub for borders, hedges, winter interest, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, loamy or clay soil. It grows in a dense, rounded form and reaches 30 to 36 inches tall and wide. Birds visit it, and the dull white flowers open in spring and summer.

Pairs well with Northern bayberry, Royal fern, Smooth aster, and Pickerel weed.
