Notes

Norfolk island pine (Araucaria heterophylla) is a tree for containers, specimen planting, and accent use. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows at a rapid rate, keeps a columnar shape, and tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Fiddle leaf fig, Blue star fern, and Taro.
