Notes

Orange bulbine (Bulbine frutescens) is a perennial for low maintenance beds and ground cover. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun and dry to average, loamy soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The plant stays evergreen, grows 12 to 18 inches tall, and tolerates drought. Yellow or pale orange flowers draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Pairs well with Angelonia, Lemon grass, and Christmas bells.
