Notes
River bulrush (Bolboschoenus fluviatilis) is a grass with green, grass-like foliage. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It grows up to 72 inches tall, so give it room at the back of a border. Brown flowers open in mid summer. The brown blooms stand out against the green leaves, so the plant looks good up close.
Pairs well with Sensitive fern, Foxtail barley, and Immortality iris.
