Notes
Star rush (Rhynchospora colorata) is a grass for pollinator gardens, low maintenance beds, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its white bracts look like daisy-like flowers and attract bees and butterflies. Deer tend to pass it by. Cut it back in winter to make room for fresh spring growth.
Pairs well with Pickerel weed, Great blue lobelia, and Obedient plant.
