Notes

Virginia meadow beauty (Rhexia virginica) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet, sandy soil. Pink to purple flowers have four petals that often fall by early afternoon. Bees visit the blooms. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Great blue lobelia, and White turtlehead.
