Notes

Virginia saltmarsh mallow (Kosteletzkya pentacarpos) is a perennial for pollinator gardens, meadows, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 4 to 6 feet tall and bears light pink, hibiscus-like flowers with yellow stamens. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms. It also tolerates salt.
