Notes
Wild plantain (Heliconia caribaea) is a perennial for borders and containers. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is evergreen and can reach about 15 feet tall. It also adapts to acid, alkaline, or neutral soil.
Pairs well with Birkin philodendron, Bamboo palm, Devil’s tongue, and Pink Pearl dahlia.
