Notes

Winecup (Callirhoe digitata) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy or clay soil. Its cup-shaped flowers open nearly flat as they mature and measure 1 to 2 inches across. They are violet to red-violet, and sometimes white. The plant is drought tolerant, so it suits dry spots.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Dense blazing star, and Sundrops.
