Notes

Winged lythrum (Lythrum alatum) is a perennial for meadow plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows up to 60 inches tall and bears pink and purple flowers from late spring to early autumn. Hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies visit the blooms. Deer tend to pass it by.
