Notes
'Afterglow' bougainvillea (Bougainvillea buttiana 'Afterglow') is a shrub for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds. It is drought tolerant and salt tolerant, and it stays evergreen. Deer tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Cabbage tree, Elijah Blue blue fescue, and Little bluestem.
