Notes

'La Jolla' bougainvillea (Bougainvillea 'La Jolla') is a shrub for borders, containers, hedges, and accents. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It is drought tolerant, salt tolerant, and evergreen, and it draws butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds.

Pairs well with Elijah Blue blue fescue, Pride of madeira, and Cabbage tree.
