Notes

Agueweed (Gentianella quinquefolia) is an annual for woodland and meadow gardens. This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy or clay soil. It bears open, light blue or lilac flowers with bristle-pointed, fringeless lobes. The stem has four sides, which makes it easy to spot. Blooms open in summer and again in autumn, and bees visit them.

Pairs well with Blue sage, Switchgrass, and Cinnamon fern.
