Notes

Blue sage (Salvia azurea) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, meadows, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Azure blue flowers open in whorls around the square stem and form a spike-like cluster. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It begins to flower early and may continue until fall.

Pairs well with Standing Ovation little bluestem, Sundrops, and Blue fescue.
