Notes

'Altari' lily (Lilium 'Altari') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Fragrant dark purple-red flowers open from early to late summer and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Each stem carries about 10 blooms with slightly ruffled edges and curled tips. World Breeding B.V. bred it.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Ornamental onion, and Eden rose.
