Notes
American ipecac (Gillenia stipulata) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, loamy soil. White or light pink flowers open in spring and again in summer. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms, and the plant tolerates drought once settled.
Pairs well with Blue-eyed grass, Sundrops, and Big bluestem.

Southeastern United States.
