Notes
Blue-eyed grass (Sisyrinchium angustifolium) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet soil of most types. Star-shaped blue flowers with yellow centers appear in spring and again in summer, and bees visit them. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Divide the clumps at least every other year, and skip heavy mulch to avoid crown rot.
Pairs well with Blue wild indigo, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Blue star.
