This plant likes full sun to full shade, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and forms a dense, evergreen screen. Fragrant flowers open from early to late spring and draw bees and butterflies. It also tolerates salt.
Pairs well with Oakleaf hydrangea, Coralbells, and Switchgrass.
