Notes
'Antonow's Blue' honey bush (Melianthus major 'Antonow's Blue') is a shrub for containers and tropical gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun. The blue-gray leaves smell like peanut butter when rubbed, and the red summer flowers draw hummingbirds and bees. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Prune it hard after it blooms.
Pairs well with Wallflower, Gypsy rose, and Tuberose.
