Notes
'Aurea' sawara cypress (Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Aurea') is a tree for specimen planting, privacy screens, hedges, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. It is an evergreen with an open habit and a moderate growth rate. Plan on a mature height of 8 to 15 feet and a spread of 13 to 18 feet, so give it plenty of room.
Pairs well with Winterberry, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Autumn fern.
