Notes

Beetleweed (Galax urceolata) is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland plantings, ground cover, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Shiny green evergreen leaves often take on a reddish tint. White flowers rise on tall, leafless stalks, and red rhizomes spread widely to form a colony.

Pairs well with Virginian bluebells, Fringed bleeding heart, Red trillium, and Lady fern.
