Notes

'Black Narcissus' dahlia (Dahlia 'Black Narcissus') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. The burgundy-purple blooms look almost black and measure 6 to 8 inches across. It is one of the darkest dahlias. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Vermillionaire cuphea, and Golden Tiara hosta.
