Notes

Blackfoot daisy (Melampodium leucanthum) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy or chalky soil. White daisy-like flowers with yellow centers smell like honey and draw bees and butterflies. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. In late winter, you can cut older plants back halfway to keep them compact.

Pairs well with Blue grama, Blue sage, and Sundrops.
