Notes

Bloodleaf (Iresine herbstii) is a perennial for borders and containers. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil of most types. Its colorful leaves come in red, burgundy, green, gold, and variegated forms. Tiny greenish-white flowers appear in spring and summer.

Pairs well with Coral plant, White velvet, Papyrus, and Vinca.
