Notes
Bluehead gilia (Gilia capitata) is an annual for borders, cottage gardens, meadows, and xeriscapes. This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and carries powder-blue flower balls on slender stalks above finely divided leaves. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms. It self-sows readily, so you may see new seedlings each year.
Pairs well with California poppy, Blue grama, and Society garlic.
