Notes

Society garlic (Tulbaghia violacea) is an herb for borders, containers, rock gardens, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is grown for its edible flowers and leaves, which have a mild garlic-onion flavor. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Hummingbirds and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Munstead lavender, Berggarten sage, and Stella de Oro daylily.
