Notes

Bush's poppy mallow (Callirhoe bushii) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, rock gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Pink to violet flowers open from early to late summer. They draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Once settled in, it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Butterfly milkweed, Prairie dropseed, Tennessee coneflower, and Emerald Cushion Blue moss phlox.
