'Cadet' orchid cactus (Epiphyllum 'Cadet') is a succulent for containers, patios, and houseplant displays. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes part sun. The large red flowers have lavender-magenta inner petals with hot red stripes. The broad petals overlap, and the plant blooms in spring, summer, and autumn.
Pairs well with Harlequin pothos, Goldfish plant, and Rojo Congo philodendron.
